Job Description
This role requires a combination of intense focus and flexibility, and a willingness to play an incredibly active part while enjoying behind-the-scenes access to 1 of the top 3 women-led startups in America. This is a critically important role, enabling the CEO to work more effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
As the CEO’s ‘trusted counsel’ and ‘right-hand person’ the role demands a strong attention to detail, impeccable writing skills and the hunger and hustle to get shit done right without excuses or ego. You live to ‘create calm from chaos’ and are motivated to help make people run as effectively as possible.
The ideal candidate wants to grow with Copia and realizes this is a huge responsibility. This position requires a lot of work but is an incredible stepping stone towards a larger and long-term role with the company. Plus, you get to work with badass people from every industry and event you can think of -- from the Oscars to the Super Bowl. Moreover, you'll have the ability to create a significant impact on one of the most important movements, causes, and leaders of our time.
TLDR: You are ridiculously organized and incredibly efficient. You exude positive vibes. You have a great work ethic and impeccable writing skills. Major brownie points if you are funny too.
Please note that you must live in or move to the Bay Area to be considered for this position.
REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION + EXPERIENCE + KEY ATTRIBUTES DESIRED
- Bachelor's Degree or higher;
- Minimum of 3 years full-time relevant work experience supporting senior level executives preferably in social enterprises, startups, technology, marketing or related companies;
- Exceptional writing skills -- the ability to create short-form, long-form, email form, medium form etc. content in a professional and effective manner;
- Very strong technical competency, specifically with Apple products (preferred) or Office (e.g., Pages/MS Word, Numbers/Excel, Keynote/Powerpoint), Slack, Gmail, and Gcal.
- Social media marketing experience desired (but not necessary)
- Ability to prioritize effectively, exhibit critical thinking, and strategically anticipate shifting and competing priorities and needs;
- Interest and experience implementing processes and procedures to improve work efficiency and productivity;
- Proven ability to exercise sound judgment in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment;
- Must demonstrate a positive, helpful demeanor and the hunger and hustle necessary to get things done right at startup speed (aka lightening fast);
- Have great email etiquette as you will be sending/receiving hundreds of emails on behalf of the company
- Ability to treat highly confidential information with care & discretion
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Smooth running and organization of the CEO’s inbox (Inbox Zero is always a great ambitious goal!);
- Confirm objectives for meetings as well as determine best approaches and strategies;
- Develop backgrounders prior to conversations with business leaders & stakeholders;
- Attend meetings as necessary, capture major takeaways, and work with the team to ensure appropriate follow-up;
- Monitor progress/achievement of next steps resulting from internal and external meetings;
- Work closely with the CEO to be apprised of and prioritize upcoming CEO commitments
- Analyze issues and opportunities that could impact the CEO and the company;
- Develop alternative approaches to addressing problems (regardless of their complexity)
- Plan and execute ways to creatively maximize growth opportunities
