Salary: $16.00/hr plus full benefits Full time
Purpose: (General description and summary) This position works with residents living in Luke-Dorf residential homes. Assists in the design and implementation of residential service plans, and provides skills development as needed. Collaborates with all treatment team members. Provides and coordinates activities.
Accountabilities:
- Collaborates closely with the clinic QMHPs to incorporate into each resident’s clinical master treatment plan the appropriate interventions to be administered by the QMHA Biller.
- Assist residents with daily living skills and household tasks.
- Assist residents with individual goals dependent upon their individual Residential Service Plans.
- Oversee house safety (fire drills, security of house, etc.)
- Educate residents on the medication names, dosages, functions, and side effects (depending on individual Residential Service Plan).
- Adhere to Confidentiality, Professional Ethics, and Dual Relationships per policy and Administrative Rule.
- Complete other tasks as assigned by House Manager, Facility Administrator, Residential Program Manager or Licensed Clinician.
- Work with House Manager and Facility Administrator to develop an on-going Skills Awareness and Development Program which will involve Residential Counselors from all shifts.
- Receives clinical supervision from licensed clinician. General supervision will be assigned by the program manager depending onsite assignment.
- Bills at least 10 client per diem codes or 20 clinical hours per week face to face with residents in skills instruction setting.

Other General Expectations:
- Must have a criminal records clearance through the State Mental Health Division prior to starting employment.
- Must be tested for tuberculosis within two weeks of date of hire. Hepatitis Vaccination must be offered within fourteen days of employment.
- Undergo a minimum of 16 hours pre-service orientation, which will include a review of house rules, policies, and procedures; education on psychiatric disabilities; an overview of resident service arrangements; a summary of each residents risk factors; medication management procedures; food service arrangements; a summary of resident’s assessment and residential service plan; TIER; and any other relevant information.
- Will be trained in blood borne pathogens and related safety procedures will be completed within first two days of hire date. Hepatitis Vaccines shall be offered within fourteen working days of initial employment.
- Will not work over 40 hours per week unless authorized by the Residential Program Manager. Will adhere to overtime policy 1.18.
- Must work 20 hours per site if split between two houses or 40 hours if dedicated to one house.
- Will be required to work weekends scheduled Saturday to Wednesday or Wednesday to Sunday.
- Will be required to be knowledgeable in residential counselor job duties and cover shifts when directed by house manager or administrator.
Education/Certificates/Licenses/Registration: QMHA required
Experience/Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age and capable of implementing the emergency procedures and disaster plan. Requires experience working with severe mental illnesses in a residential setting, understanding of the mental health system, and ability to work with persons in recovery from psychiatric and substance-related illnesses.
