Spoke is a young, well funded, San Francisco-based startup that is reinventing workplace ticketing systems. Our goal is to make Spoke the primary business application that companies use for all of their knowledge and service requests. We’re a small team of designers, engineers and machine-learning experts who are repeat entrepreneurs and most recently worked at Google and Twitter.
We are looking for exceptional engineers to join our team in San Francisco to manage and scale the cloud & container-native environments that run Spoke. Our infrastructure runs entirely within Google Cloud, and we use many of their and other third party services. We buy the best tools when available and build our own when necessary.
Responsibilities:
- Own the platform to build, deploy and serve all parts of Spoke.
- Develop and manage deployments, automation and continuous integration systems for improving the reliability, and manageability of our services.
- Deploy and manage monitoring tools. Troubleshoot application and infrastructure bottlenecks. Tune configurations to maximize availability and performance.
- Build tools and environments used by Spoke's engineers to develop and ship features reliably and swiftly.
Requirements:
- Track record (3+ years professionally) of operating highly available platforms in public cloud (GCP, AWS) - encompassing servers, networking, NoSQL or relational databases.
- Experience in scaling production systems and technologies like storage, cache, queueing systems, monitoring and distributed systems.
- Deep understanding of Unix systems including solid scripting skills.
- Experience running OS containers and deploying on cluster orchestration frameworks (Kubernetes, Mesosphere).
- Experience with DevOps tools (Chef, Puppet, Jenkins, CircleCI, ELK, Nagios).
- Ability to balance priorities while working alone or within a team.
