Spoke is a young, well funded, San Francisco-based startup that is reinventing workplace ticketing systems. Our goal is to make Spoke the primary business application that companies use for all of their knowledge and service requests. We’re a small team of designers, engineers and machine-learning experts who are repeat entrepreneurs and most recently worked at Google and Twitter.
We are looking for exceptional engineers to join our team in San Francisco. At Spoke, we pride ourselves on the quality of our design. Frontend Engineers play a central role in the conceptualization, development, and delivery of a variety of delightful product experiences. Spoke is built on top of the MEAN (MongoDB, Express, Angular, Node) stack. Experience in these technologies is a huge plus.
Responsibilities:
- Build and improve features in Spoke’s real-time web application.
- Write high-quality, maintainable and reusable front-end components, with unit tests.
- Collaborate with designers, product teams, and other engineers to deliver excellent user-facing features.
- Profile and optimize JavaScript performance. Fix cross-browser compatibility issues.
- Write and review code and technical designs. Onboard new engineers.
- Triage and fix bugs. Collaborate with others in troubleshooting and addressing production issues.
Requirements:
- Track record (3+ years professionally) of building rock-solid and highly performant JavaScript clients.
- Proficient in at least one or more modern browser technologies including but not limited to JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Handlebars, Angular, React, jQuery, Gulp, Grunt.
- Experience with front-end optimization, memory tuning and benchmarking (Chrome Developer Tools, Firebug, YSlow, PageSpeed).
- Familiarity with WebSockets, Email templating and Bot APIs is a bonus.
- Ability to balance priorities while working alone or within a team.
