Andre is CEO and Founder of Ligandal, a breakthrough nanomedicine company with the first commercial approach for coupling gene editing tools such as CRISPR, as well as RNA and DNA, to cell-specific targeting molecules (ligands).
The company is also developing ultra-rapid therapeutics and vaccines for outbreaks such as the novel 2019 coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2).
He is an inventor on 43 issued or pending patents for delivery of nucleic acids and proteins with cell-specific targeting molecules, with a particular focus on genome engineering and RNA delivery for a variety of therapeutic applications.
His mission is to enable a world where we can program biological systems at will, to treat disease and extend healthspan.
He received his Biomedical Engineering in Biomaterials & Gene Delivery from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
