One thing that's an important distinction to make is coaching vs therapy.
While I absolutely love coaching, there are times that therapy in addition to or before you start coaching is extremely helpful.
Here’s a simple explainer:
Therapy is often focused on the past. Trauma from past experiences, unresolved pain or present day anxiety.
Therapy is about healing.
Coaching is often focused on the future. Where you want to go, what do you want to do.
Coaching is about improving performance.
If you are having thoughts of anxiety, depression, self harm or suicide, therapy and sometimes even urgent care is needed. I strongly recommend you talk to a mental health provider.
The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at 1-800-273-TALK and is free and confidential.
