We are proud to announce our inaugural Job Search Bootcamp!


Our Bootcamp is based on JSAG, the Job Search Action Group, developed at the Wharton Executive MBA Program in San Francisco by Steve Hernandez, Wharton’s Director of Career Advancement, and Mike Manoske, HireClub’s Director of Coaching.

The Wharton JSAG Program has helped hundreds of MBA students make dramatic changes in their career paths. It’s a hands on program where you will learn and build these skills. HireClub is the first place to bring this successful program outside of Wharton, via our Job Search Bootcamp.

Steve and Mike are both experienced Career Coaches and have deep experience as Recruiters, which brought that real world view into the Job Search Bootcamp.

This Bootcamp program is suitable for all those looking to level up their career, regardless of roles and industries.

Industries have included tech, healthcare, biotech, pharmaceutical, finance, legal, real estate, manufacturing, and business consulting.

Roles have been in engineering, product management, program management, finance and accounting, sales and business development, marketing, operations, and customer success.

Very limited slots (8 participants) are available in this inaugural program. Minimum of four participants is required.

Dates: Two Tuesdays on Oct. 8 and Oct. 15, from 6:30pm-9pm. All participants are required to attend both sessions.

Program Details

Our Job Search Bootcamp is designed to give participants a proven, scalable Job Search and Career Transition model you can use now and for the rest of your career.

The program covers all phases of your job search:

  • Building a compelling brand statement you can use in every part of you Job Search
  • Create meaningful business relationships instead of networking
  • Write strong LinkedIn profiles and resumes - and not take forever to make them
  • Learn how to change interviews from a stressful “piano recital” experience to being consultative and collaborative.
  • Learn negotiating techniques that get you the stronger results and build more rapport - at the same time.

Program Structure

SESSION 1 (Tuesday, Oct. 8 from 6:30pm-9pm)

  1. TARGETS: Identify Industries, companies and roles based on your current interests and passions.

  2. BRAND: Build a compelling brand statement (not an elevator pitch) that you will use throughout your job search and beyond. You’ll quickly see how important your brand statement is and the number of places it will be used, often in slightly different formats.

  3. RELATIONSHIP BUILDING: Create, grow and maintain a relationship building/networking model for your current job search. Develop a strong reach out message and begin to share it with the people you are interested in.

  4. SOURCING: Identifying job opportunities using multiple resources.

  5. LINKEDIN: Updating or create a compelling LinkedIn profile, based on the content and information you’ve already developed. You’ll tie in the work you’ve done above so your profile matches and makes a good case that you’re a spot-on candidate for your next interest areas.

SESSION 2 (Tuesday, Oct. 15 from 6:30pm-9pm)

  1. RESUME: Update your resume and treated as a marketing document, not your life story.

  2. APPLICATION TACTICS: Best practices on how to develop and manage “multiple tracks” of Job Applications.

  3. INTERVIEWING: Learn to tell your story strongly and effectively during informal and formal interviews.

  4. NEGOTIATION: Learn the “levers”, methods and effective communication to use during negotiations.
